The Castle
The castle is very old. It is used now by
schools to study Ford. King James IV stayed at the castle before the Battle of
Flodden.
The
Millennium Wood
In 1999 everyone in the school planted acorns to
grow for the next year. In 2000 all the children planted their trees in the
Millennium wood.
Lady Waterford Hall
Lady Waterford Hall was built in 1860. Louise
Anne Marchioness was born in 14th April 1818 and died in may 1891. She built
Lady Waterford hall as a school. She painted beautiful pictures from the bible
on the walls.
Horseshoe Cottage
We have a cottage in the village with a
horseshoe door. It is a pottery now.
Ford and Etal Tartan
In 2002 class 1 made a tartan with Ronnie Hek. He took it back to his company and they produced a tartan. It has red for our school sweatshirts, blue for the River Till, green for all the trees, hedges and fields and purple from the roof of Lady Waterford Hall.
Freddie Bear
When children go on holiday they take Freddie Bear with them. He has his own suitcase. He has a passport and Ford School jumper.
