What are Special Educational Needs?
 
A child or young person has special educational needs if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special provision to be made for them.

The broad areas are:
  • communication and interaction
  • cognition and learning
  • social, emotional and mental health difficulties/emotional wellbeing and behaviour
  • sensory or physical needs
