Grace Darling Museum 2019

This term Cherry Class have been learning about Grace Darling and why she was significant. We went to the Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh to learn more about what her daily life would have been like and of course the famous rescue.
We took part in a work shop where we got to see lots of items that Grace would have used such as carbolic soap, a ceramic hot water bottle and slate for writing on. We also heard about what Grace's daily activities would have been and some of us even had a go at adding to a proggy mat.
The Museum has lots of artifacts including the coble boat which Grace and her father used in the rescue. Many of the children were surprised at how big the boat was. We all had a fantastic day!
