May Day

1st May 2015

On May 1st we crowned this years May Queen followed by traditional may pole dancing. We started with a whole school procession through the village to the green where our oldest girl, Madeline Humphreys, was crowned May Queen by Mrs Firth. Her flower girl (the second oldest girl) was Portia Poppitt, with the Hobby Horse (oldest boy) Edward McAree, and the second oldest boy was the shaker.
All the children participated in the may pole dancing which took place behind the old school which is now the Lady Waterford Hall, watched by friends and family.
It was a lovely day and the weather just about held out.
